Fellowship Project: Blog Posting
After you watch the video and read the study notes below, answer these questions here:
Make a plan to get with God and discuss the promises He has for you.
1. What would it be like to go through the door and sit and feast with Jesus? It’s the door of access. Imagine how your life would be different.
2. Discuss how you are connected to Jesus through the vine. (John 15:1-8.)
3. Discuss John 1:10-13, where it talks about “those who received Jesus; He gave them the power to become sons of God.”
Blessed are you when men hate you, And when they exclude you, And revile you, and cast out your name as evil, For the Son of Man’s sake. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy! For indeed your reward is great in heaven, For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets. —Luke 6:22-23
DISCUSSION:
Your relationship with God is the most important thing, especially in these end times. Paul warned Timothy that trying times were coming upon us (2 Timothy 3).
We would witness the loss of family members and friends, and it would turn really dark. We would witness betrayal and family turning against one another, and there would be a lot of false doctrine coming forth in these last days. The reason I’m saying this is not to be negative, but because you may be going through something or standing for Jesus Christ while you’re being pressured to believe certain things, and maybe people are being like Job's wife and saying to curse God and die. People are getting to where they're mad that you even believe in God. In some countries, some of you are being threatened by other people, but the Lord wants you to know that it's about your relationship with God. If people leave you or hurt you, or turn their backs on you, remember Jesus said that this would happen. If they abandon Him, they're going to abandon you. If they hated Him, they're going to hate you. (John 15:18). He said you should rejoice if you're rejected or if you're being left out. Because of the anointing and the glory that's on you; “Great is your reward in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:12) You're being persecuted for the word's sake.
Your relationship with Jesus Christ is so important that you have to weigh it against what's happening to you and even with your friends and family. The Lord warned me about everything that was going to happen. Of course, it did happen, but He said, “You're going to lose a lot of friends, and ministry will change. Ministry as you know it is done, and I'm pulling lampstands. You're going to see ministries disappear; you’re going to see people walk away from the ministry and walk away from you.” The reason is that they went as far as they could go with the Lord.
When you decide to keep on going, there will be a distance between you and the person if they stop. Jesus was saying to me, I'm going to bring you other friends, but they're going to be fewer in number. They will not replace what you lost, but they will be good friends, and they will come alongside and help you. He was very
positive about a negative thing. He said, “Repentance is when you turn your gaze back to me. All that people need to realize is that anything that draws their attention away from looking at My face is idolatry; it’s idol worship. Anything that has captured your attention and affection is idolatry. That is why I tell the Church to repent and come back to their first love.”
It's because someone or something has taken their gaze away, and they need to repent. They need to turn back to the gaze of their Creator, which is Jesus Christ. Your relationship with God has to stay intact no matter what happens to you. Many will leave you, but you still have a relationship with Jesus Christ. He's the one that can take care of everything for you no matter what. Even if they all leave, He's going to remain faithful. Are you ready to give up everything that has been placed before Him?
GOD IS IN YOUR FUTURE
Revelation 3:20 TPT:
Behold, I’m standing at the door knocking. If your heart is open to hearing My voice and you open the door within, I will come in to you and feast with you, and you will feast with me.
This is in the book of Revelation. If you remember these first couple of chapters, He's writing letters to the different churches, and most of them didn't pass the test, and they were being warned. Jesus had something to say to each church. Included with each of these churches is a promise if they obey. Here, in this particular situation and verse, He's saying, let that open door be the one thing you walk into, but when you get in there, there's going to be a table set up. He said, you're going to sit down, and I'm going to feast with you, and you will feast with me, and we're going to have fellowship together. This was the promise for this particular situation. What I like to do is take all those promises that Jesus says, and I obey and meditate on them all the time. If Jesus made a promise to the seven churches in Northern Turkey, and they're all gone now, then I'll go ahead and take those good promises and do the right thing with them. You can do that as well.
He's inviting you to feast with Him and sit at a table, and you can talk to Him and discuss your future. The secret that I've learned from the Lord is you get Him to talk about your future, and then you don't even have to ask Him about your present. I usually don't pray. I don't have any real requests. When I go to the Lord, I don't ask Him for anything except wisdom. I ask Him for wisdom because if I have wisdom, then I don't have any more questions. I also found that if I have Him talk to me about my future, the present does not have to be addressed because we're past that. My present is my past, and my future is His present because He's standing in it. He's standing in your future as though it is now.
